A lot of accidents around the home can be easily prevented by using a little forethought.
We all know the obvious ones like having pool fencing and keeping chemicals locked away, but what about the less obvious.

Large flat screen televisions can be pulled down on small children causing serious injury or even death. Make sure they are secured firmly or at the very least placed at the rear of the stand.

Christmas trees, again can be pulled down and lights on trees can be a hazard if a young child pulls on them and gets tangled. Or swallows a bulb. Place your tree inside an old playpen to stop children getting too close.

Toy boxes with hinged lids can trap either little people, or little fingers. Micky accidentally shut himself into the toy box and while he wasn’t hurt, it frightened him terribly and also me because I couldn’t find him. Either take the lid off completely until they’re bigger or fit a sliding lid stay to keep it open.
